Illness Policies

Under the weather?  Here are the Kelly's Music Corner Illness Policies.

As much as I adore you and your children, we need to be considerate of our Kindermusik friends.  This means closely following the Kelly's Music Corner Illness Policies and staying home when contagious.  I am very flexible when it comes to make-up classes, so please, take care of you and your child and help to keep germs away from our friends!

FEVERYour child must be fever free for 24 hours before attending class.   Even if they seem to be acting/eating/sleeping normally, if they have had a fever within 24 hours of their class, please keep them home.

STOMACH BUGS: Ah, the dreaded stomach bug!  Please, please, please (!!!) keep your child home if they have experienced vomiting or diarrhea.  From everything I've read, the highly contagious stomach bugs are still contagious for 72 hours after the last bout of vomiting and/or diarrhea.  So, if you or your child should experience this, please do not return to class until you have been free of vomiting and/or diarrhea for at least 72 hours.

RUNNY NOSE: If the nasal discharge is clear and your child is acting, eating and sleeping normally, then it is ok to attend class.  As we all know, runny noses can last forever (or at least it sure seems that way!).  If the nasal discharge is yellow or green, please consult your pediatrician.

COUGHS: If a cough is allergy related, then obviously it is ok to attend class.  If your child has a contagious cough (bronchitis, etc.), please wait at least 24 hours after starting an antibiotic to attend class.

RASHES: Please check with your pediatrician to determine when/how long the rash is contagious.

Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the above policies.  As much as I do not want you to have to miss classes, it is my goal to keep our studio as healthy and as germ-free as possible.  Rest assured, I do my part and clean/disinfect all common areas (tables, chairs, door knobs, instruments, etc. )!  Of course, we all know we can do everything in our power and still come down with something!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for being considerate of your Kindermusik friends!  I appreciate it and I am sure they do too!

Let's all stay...
